Welcome to the Journal of Women¡¯s Medicine (J WOMENS MED). As Chairman of Korean Society of Obstetrics and Gynecology (KSOG) it gives me great pleasure to present the first issue of J WOMENS MED, internationally scholarly journal.
First of all I would like to start by thanking all the contributors who made this journal far. Publishing a journal is a complicated process which requires dedication. We have a remarkable associate editors and editorial board. Each member committed to help develop and monitor the journal as it evolves. I can¡¯t even imagine how many nights of lost sleep were needed to produce it. I can¢¥t find the words to describe how appreciated it is. I hope they are proud of this remarkable result. Especially I want to express my sincere gratitude to Editor in Chief Professor Jin Hong Kim, who is responsible for this journal.
Over the last 60 years KSOG worked together to overcome the challenges of growth. Our determination to succeed, a relentless quest for excellence, and resilience in the face of adversity and change are seen in our history. Through that commitment, we are now poised to advance the core value of the medical circles. Consequently public attention on its importance to Women¡¯s Health is at an all-time high and there is a growing need for cross-divisional exchanges of emerging issues of this field. Although Journal of Women¡¯s Medicine is a society journal that started from Korea, the scope of the Journal is more than just regional. We currently publish two issues per year and 1,000 copies per issue for distributions around the world. This journal will provide diverse aspects of obstetrics and gynecology in line with your expectation.
We have the saying like ¡®A good beginning is half the battle¡¯, which means well begun is half done. Like the old saying is always true I believe this journal should position as one of the world best journals for medical science.
I wish you all a happy and prosperous 2008.
